Hey kiddos! I apologize for not updating today. My day's been kinda busy. I had the day off from work but I had to get up and go to court over a speeding ticket. Then, since I had the day off, I had some day off type errands that needed to be tended to. I do want to make a couple of notes though:

• I will not be leaking full albums on this blog. I know I leaked the Cheyenne one but that will be the only one. I'm not against downloading music - obviously. But I am a big believer in supporting artists. Research goes to show that 90% of people who download do actually go out and purchase the albums and that's a good thing. But I want to do as much as I can to encourage people to still buy albums. I'm well aware that Back To Basics has leaked but I won't be posting it here. Also, I'm really excited to hear that album and I haven't even downloaded it myself. Sometimes you just want to feel that excitement that you get after you've purchased it in the store and get to hear it for the first time.

• With so many artists releasing albums in the upcoming months, I'm going to be doing "Looking Back At..." posts, where we look back at tracks/singles from artists' past albums. For tomorrow I know I'll be posting a look back at Clay Aiken and Kelis...and maybe Christina Aguilera if I've got time to get it uploaded.

On A Personal Note...

Hello all! I'm writing once again to offer you my deepest apologies on the lack of updates. Since I've returned from vacation, I've had situtations come up in my personal life that need dire attention and I've been given a new project at work that's taken up much of my time. I feel really bad. I feel like I teased all of you with a great blog for a week and a half and then abandoned you. I really enjoy being able to provide all of you with great new music and exclusives. I promise that sometime this week I will upload some new edits of Fergie's debut single that were sent to radio. There's an "O Snap" edit without the sirens in the beginning as well as an "O Shhh" edit with and without the sirens. I also have DVD rips (.vob files) of the Fergie video as well as Brooke Hogan's video.

Now, on to the more personal note....

As most of you have probably heard by now, Lance Bass (formerly?) of *NSYNC will be coming out of the closet in this week's issue of People magazine, due on newsstands this Friday. Lance was always my favorite member of *NSYNC and I never could quite put a finger on why. I always felt that part of it was because we grew up in similiar situations. He grew up in the tiny town of Clinton, Mississippi and I grew up in a tiny town in Tennessee with a population of 400 people. I always related to him - and Britney Spears - because I admired how they never let where they were from stop them from pursuing their dreams of fame and stardom. I've used their inspiration to fuel my own dreams.

I know firsthand how difficult it is to come out of the closet and the struggles you face - mentally and emotionally - in doing so. I'm happy to read that Lance is finally at a place in life where he's comfortable with himself and at peace with the person he has become. I now have a new reason he's my favorite member of *NSYNC.

At the same time, though, I have to offer a giant "Fuck you" to the Internet gossip media - particularly Perez Hilton. For months, in his highly publicized blog, Perez has been out to, well, out Lance. In fact, Lance told MTV News the rumors online were getting back to his parents and they were starting to question him. No one - and I mean NO ONE - should ever be forced to out themselves if they don't want to because, quite frankly, it's no one's business. I'm sorry that not all gay men wear their homosexuality on their sleeve and parade it around like Perez Hilton. Some of us prefer to be known by our actions and how we treat others, not by who we sleep with. On Howard Stern this morning, Perez defended his actions and said no one is sacred. He'll out who he feels like outing. This whole idea makes me sick and it's not the first time it's happened.

Several years ago, Danny Pintauro (Jonathan from "Who's The Boss?") was forced to come out of the closet and he wasn't read. Star magazine called him and said they had the pictures and the proof and they were going to run the story with or without his interview. He reluctantly agreed.

Alright, I'm stepping down off my soap box now. You came here for music, not my rantings.

A Public Affair Album Sampler

Some looped clips from Jessica Simpson's upcoming album A Public Affair are circulating. I'm excited for this record because I'm a huge Jessica Simpson fan. I'm still not sure how I feel about what I'm hearing here though. I haven't spent enough time with the clips yet and, well, they're just clips. You can sometimes misjudge a song just by it's clip. "B.O.Y." sounds like upbeat, retro fun (similiar to "A Public Affair") and the intro reminds me of "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains Of Wayne. "I Belong To Me" and "I Don't Want To Care" sound like they could have been on Nick Lachey's record. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm not saying that's a good thing. I've been trying really hard to like his record lately but everything sounds the same and there's only so much depressing divorce music you can take, you know? haha "If You Were Mine" is another slice of retro upbeatness...however, I don't know how I feel about it. To me this seems very much like a concept album similiar to Mariah's Glitter album. Laugh all you want, but once you got that Mariah's album was an 80s concept album, then it turned out to be a really good record. I've still yet to form an opinion about "The Lover In Me" and "Walkin' 'Round In A Circle." "The Lover In Me" sounds like it could have been on In This Skin and "Walkin' 'Round In A Circle" sounds like it was meant to be a country record but Jessica couldn't quite pull off the country sound. The only snippet I'm definitely in love with is Jessica's cover of Dead Or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)," which is one of my absolute favorite songs of all time. Also, before downloading, you should know these are not high quality clips. They're 64 kbs but they're good quality for being such low quality.

Billie Piper - Walk Of Life

Billie Piper, as a musical artist, didn't really make much of a splash in the States. "She Wants You" was released as her debut single here with little to no fanfare. Despite the lack of support, Virgin released her album, Honey To The Bee, Stateside. It sold little to nothing, so the label spent no money, time or energy trying to release her follow-up, Walk Of Life, in the States. I feel, though, it could have been far more successful than their first attempt. Billie fans, plug your ears, but I though HTTB was an atrocious album, haha. I, however, did not feel that way about Walk Of Life. The album is now six years old and I still listen to it. Billie's now moved on to become a successful actress, starring "Doctor Who," but we can always hope for a comeback, can't we? And a divorce from her dodgy husband, lol. They are still married, right?

In the summer of 2004, with the success of "The Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" boosting sales of her album, In This Skin, Jessica Simpson hit the road and brought The Reality Tour to 40 cities across the U.S. The last tour stop - in Los Angeles - was taped and later released on DVD. I've ripped the audio from the concert, zipped it up and uploaded it below. Which Do You Prefer?

Which filesharing service would you guys prefer me to use? I don't like to use YouSendit because it kills the link after 100 downloads or 7 days and based on the hits this blog has received over the past 6 days (thank you for all of them, by the way!), a YSI link would easily reach 100 downloads in a few hours' time. I don't like to use RapidShare because of the bandwidth restrictions it places on downloaders. I prefer to use Megaupload. It's quick, it's easy and it lets me upload a fairly large file. Some people have complained about Megaupload, though, saying it's difficult to use. I'm using ZShare today, though I don't really like it. However, I want to keep you coming back, so I'm down with whatever you decided. Just pop me a comment and let me know.

He saved enough money to pay for the studio time to produce his first record, which he released independently, called Elm St.

What's New Pussycat?

The Pussycat Dolls are spending most of the summer on the road with The Black Eyed Peas. When they're not performing live, they're in and out of the studio working on their follow-up to last year's PCD.

Somehow, in the midst of all this, lead Pussycat Nicole Scherzinger has found time to dig her claws (are sick of the kitty puns yet?) into a bit of sidework. She's the lead vocalist on a track produced by Bryan Cox called "Steam," and she's managed to lend her vocals to a track on Avant's new album called "Lie About Us" and a track on Shaggy's new album called "Don't Ask Her That."

A Look Back At Cheryl Tweedy

Being that I live in America, I did not get to watch the creation of Girls Aloud on "Popstars: The Rivals." As a matter of fact, it's been less than a year ago that I really got into the group. When Chemistry leaked, it was posted on a message board that I frequent and I'd heard many good things about the girls and their music. The album was free so I figured, "Why the hell not download it?" That simple decision has turned into a love affair, haha.

Since we don't get Top Of The Pops, CD: UK, Davina, etc., in the States, any time I can find Girls Aloud video files, I jump at the chance to download them. Yesterday, I was scouring Ares - the P2P downloading program I use - and I stumbled across these .wmv (boo!...but beggars can't be choosers) videos of Cheryl performing on "Popstars." I figured that I couldn't be the only one who would enjoy having them.

Hi gang! I offer all of you my sincerest apologies for no update today. It was a combination of it being a slow news day and being worn out from work. I know you guys don't know much about me, but my work schedule is 5a - 1p, so in the afternoons, when I normally update, I'm fighting back my afternoon nap, haha.

When you really sit back and look at all the music she released from her debut in 1999 to 2005, she's released quite a bit. Long before The Pussycat Dolls, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger auditioned for a show on the U.S.'s WB Network that we stole from the U.K. called "Popstars." The goal was to form a girl group. In the end, Ana Maria Lombo, Rosanna Tavarez, Ivette Sosa, Nicole Scherzinger and Maile Misajon were chosen to be the members of Eden's Crush.

The group is best - and that's being generous, haha - known for their debut single, "Get Over Yourself (Goodbye)," which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart at #8. Their album, Popstars, was certified gold (500,000 units moved) and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Sales chart but failed to match the success of "Popstar" acts from other countries.

First of all, I'm sure you've noticed by now that I've posted a bunch of music by Jessica Simpson in the short three day history of this blog. Jessica's been one of my favorite artists since her debut in 1999 and I'm always happy to help spread the word about her music.

In 2002, after somewhat lackluster sales from Irresistible, then Columbia Records head, Tommy Mottola, felt it would be wise for Jessica to release a remix record. The company (Sony Music) had massive success releasing one for Jennifer Lopez and lukewarm success releasing one for Destiny's Child. Jessica's remix "album" was more like an EP and was not reproduced after the initial pressing of the album.

From Justin To Kelly Official Soundtrack

Sure, "From Justin To Kelly" wasn't the most spectacular film in cinematic history. You can pan the film all you want but if you've seen the film, you can't deny that there was legitimate, good pop music in the film. Kelly Clarkson even performed tracks from the film on "The Independent Tour" with Clay Aiken because she loved them so much. An official soundtrack was never released though it now appears one was planned as, oddly, the official soundtrack leaked about a week and a half ago. Some of my personal favorite tracks include Kelly's cover of The Go-Go's "Vacation," "The Bounce (The Luv)," "Madness," "Timeless," "Anytime" with Kelly and Justin, and the new take on on The Bee-Gees classic "That's The Way I Like It."

Rihanna confirmed to MTV News yesterday that the next single from A Girl Like Me will be "We Ride." She says that aside from "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful," it's the most downloaded song from the album on iTunes and by releasing it, she'll be giving her fans what she wants. She also says it's a good song for summer.

I agree it's a good song for summer but I think "Kisses Don't Lie" is an even better song for summer, haha. Either way, it will be after summer before the single is even released. She doesn't plan to shoot the video until after her tour ends in August.

Jessica Extends Her Public Affair

Shortly after the very first "Nick & Jessica Variety Hour" aired, Jessica Simpson received a development deal with ABC for a sitcom. A pilot for the sitcom was shot and presented to ABC execs, who decided to pass on the idea. I don't know how they got it, but the best Jessica fan site ever - SweetKisses.net - has the pilot for "Jessica." It's in .avi format. The site has exclusivity rights to the file, so if you'd like to see it for yourself - and there are some good chuckles in it - head on over to SK.net's Multimedia > Video page to download it.

I do have something you can download though. The vinyl single of "A Public Affair" has been sent to clubs and DJs and there's an extended mix of the song on there.

The ladies of Lillix are back with a brand new 60s inspired video for the first single, "Sweet Temptation," from their sophomore album, Into The Hollow. The album is slated to hit Japanese shelves on August 8th and the Canadian market on August 29th. No word yet on when or if there will be a US release date. :-( This time around, the girls are going for a more 80's-electro-female-Killers inspired sound and I think it's working for them. Cheyenne Kimball is the star of the new MTV reality show, "Cheyenne." At age 12, she won NBC's talent competition, "America's Most Talented Kid." At age 15, she began preparing for the release of her Epic Records debut, The Day Has Come. The album hits stores on July 11th and is up for preview this week on The Leak at MTV.com.
I had the pleasure of spending some time with Cheyenne - as well as her mom Shannon, sister Brittany and guitarist Eddie - when she did an acoustic concert for the radio station I work for last week. I'd previously thought her single, "Hanging On," was a cute, fun, summery pop song. Cheyenne completely won me over and generated major interest on my part in her album.

I'm posting the full album below. However, it's not the best quailty. The mp3s are streamrips from MTV's The Leak and they're ripped at 96 kbs. However, they're pretty damn good for 96 kbs and they'll have to do until higher quality mp3s surface.

The following tracks did not make the album cut: "Deceitful," "Do You Care," "Fake," "Is It Love," "My Fault," "To Be Happy," "Too Good For You," "When You Leave" and the Josh Hoge duet "Wonderful." I'm disappointed that the Josh Hoge duet didn't make the final tracklisting. I watched Cheyenne & Josh record the song on the show and was looking forward to hearing the finished product.
